GRB 2007 Proceedings

The conference proceedings will be published by the American Institute for Physics (AIP).

Here are the page limits for each type of presentation:

  • review talks: 6 pages
  • solicited talks: 5 pages
  • poster competition winners: 5 pages
  • contributed talks: 4 pages
  • poster presentations: 4 pages

We will use the AIP LaTeX macros for the 6x9 inch format. They can be found at the AIP site here (note that their ZIP file unzips into the current directory). Futher AIP instructions are at this location.

Note: we had originally mentioned slightly different page counts for each type of presentation.

Note: review papers should cover the broad area for which the speaker was invited. The goal here is that this proceedings volume should be a reference for the current state of the field which is accessible for people coming up to speed in the field of Gamma Ray Bursts.

Note: the bibliography has to be in AIP's style. The only robust way to make this happen is to use BibTeX, which is something you might want to be doing anyway (BibTeX is really the right way to keep track of your references). These days there are some nice integrated tools that make it easy and pleasant. One example of a cross-platform tool is: http://jabref.sourceforge.net/ but you can ask your nearest expert for their advice too.

Figures should be submitted in encapsulated postscript format, with the filename ending in .eps

NOTE: although photographs might be raster files converted to .eps format, plots and drawings must all be converted in a way that maintains the vector format. Pasting plots or drawings in from web sites, for example, is not OK.

You should put your .tex, .bib and .eps files (and any other supporting files) in a .tar.gz or .zip archive whose name should be grb2007_youremail@yourdomain_1.zip (or .tar.gz), and then go to the file upload dialog below to submit it.

Here is a simple sequence of commands that might do the job for you:

mkdir grb2007_youremail@yourdomain_1
cp ms.tex grb2007_youremail@yourdomain_1
cp ms.bib grb2007_youremail@yourdomain_1
cp fig1.eps grb2007_youremail@yourdomain_1
cp fig2.eps grb2007_youremail@yourdomain_1
[...]
zip -r grb2007_youremail@yourdomain_1.zip grb2007_youremail@yourdomain_1
